On-line catalog                                              

To place a hold on a book from the on-line catalog:

  1. 1. Click on the “log in” link in the patron square (located in the upper left-hand corner of the screen) 

  2. 2.Enter your lunch number under username. Your first and last initials are your password.

  3. 3.Press enter to take you back to the main screen.

  4. 4.Type in the title of the book you want to place a hold on and when the book comes up, click on it. 

  5. 5.Scroll to the bottom of this screen, where you should find a "place hold" link. Click on it.

  6. 6.You should see a message confirming the hold you’ve placed on the book.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     


Issues and Controversies database -Search  a database of more than 900 articles featuring today’s hot topics.  Features include pro and con statements, a large listing of research topics, and information broken down into the subgroups of articles, editorial cartoons, illustrations and reference materials.

Hutchinson Public Library Site -Access HPL’s on-line catalog.  Search for audio books and much more at this site.



Kansas Library Card Site -Access research databases, audio books and digital e-books.  Infotrac databases include Informe, a Spanish-language database.  The FirstSearch interface and help files are available in Spanish as well.  You’ll be able to access the site from school without a pin number by clicking on the State Library of Kansas link below, but may need to have your pin number to access it from home.  Ask the librarian for your pin number.



State Library of Kansas Site-Provides access to the Kansas Library Card as well as many databases.  Databases cover topics ranging from auto repair to literature to one specifically geared to Kansas health.
